As the oldest coffee roasting company in the canton of Graubünden, we have been roasting coffee beans from all over the world since 1912 using the latest technology and taking a lot of time. This is how the unique pleasure that is produced with Engadin mountain air is created.
We love what we do and like to take our time: Our roasting process takes longer in Zuoz because our mountain village is located at 1716 meters above sea level. Because the boiling point is lower up here – by one degree for every 300 meters of altitude. At 1500 meters, the boiling temperature is no longer 100 but 95 degrees Celsius.
Cafè Badilatti therefore takes longer to process the beans. You will feel exactly this difference in quality, because each individual bean can complete its roasting process evenly and without time pressure.
Our company celebrates its 111th anniversary in 2023 and was recently taken over by the 4th generation of the Badilatti family. It all started with a small grocery store in Zuoz and has blossomed into one of the better-known companies in the canton and in some cases even beyond the Swiss borders.
If you would like to find out more about us or test our Grisons coffee, we look forward to seeing you at Igeho 2023 in Basel.
