Carpigiani Glace Challenge

Who makes the best gelato? 15 selected gelatieri from Switzerland will compete at IGEHO with their best gelato for a place in the European final of the "Gelato Festival World Masters".

On Sunday, November 19, Carpigiani and Pitec AG will host the Carpigiani Challenge Switzerland at Igeho in Basel. This is a competition in which 15 selected gelatieri from Switzerland will compete with their best ice cream for a place in the European final. 

On the day of the competition, the gelatieri will prepare their ice cream at the Pitec AG stand. The laboratory and the space will be provided by the organizers. Afterwards, a top-class jury will taste and evaluate each gelato. 

The three best flavors will then be allowed to participate in the European final of the "Gelato Festival World Masters". This will take place in 2025 in Bologna (Italy) at Carpigiani's headquarters. The "Gelato Festival World Master 2022-2025" championship is organized by Gelato Festival in collaboration with Carpigiani and Carpigiani Gelato University, the world's most prestigious school for successful gelato makers, and Sigep (the leading trade fair for artisanal gelato, pastry, bakery and coffee).

Program:

  • 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM: Ice cream production by individual participants.
  • 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM: Evaluation by the jury.
  • From 5:00 PM: Announcement of rankings / Award ceremony.
